The venue: a historic place
The Erbacher Hof is situated in the historic centre of Mainz. Firstly mentioned in 1177 as a townhouse of the Cistercian monastery Eberbach in the Rheingau, the abbey and the townhouse were dissolved in the secularization in 1803 and have since been privately owned. 1969 the site was purchased and historically reconstructed by the Diocese of Mainz. Since 1977 it is used as a conference center. In 1988 it was enlarged by a new building with a fascinating roof, which you partially see in our conference banner.
