Travel to Mainz

Coming to Mainz: Frankfurt/Main airport is just 25 km from Mainz and frequently served by german railway services as well as local train. Here you can book a ticket:  https://int.bahn.de/en . Local trains (line S8) from Frankfurt/Main airport to Mainz central station (Hauptbahnhof) are available every 30 minutes. Here an example for trains on Sunday afternoon:

Local transportation: Several busses and trams from Mainz central station serve the university campus (Tram 51, 53 and 59, Bus 54, Bus 55, Bus 56, Bus 57, Bus 6, Bus 64, Bus 65, Bus 650, Bus 68, Bus 75, Bus 78, Bus 90, Bus 91, Bus E).
If you leave the main station at the West Exit  'Ausgang West' you directly head to the tram and bus station 'West'. Most  lines starting here serve the campus which you reach after one stop.
We recommend the tram lines 51 / 53 /57 / 59 which stop directly at the main entrance of the campus.
